Fun Facts with Eco&Nature

Fun Fact #1: I do: Tying the knot is getting greener

Think a wedding should only be in pure white? Think again.

Gasp in appreciation as conscientious newly-weds exercise their creativity with eco-friendly weddings!

More and more couples are combining their eco-ideals with their big day. In a bid to reduce their carbon footprint, many brides are requesting for their bridal gowns to be made from recycled materials.

Apart from simpler invitation cards, the usually-elaborate complimentary gifts to the wedding guests have also taken a turn.
Green soap - just the gift to put a smile on an eco-friendly guest's face.
Here's another handy tip, especially to all the gorgeous ladies: the next time you attend a wedding reception, go in a simple dress. Besides saving money and befitting the theme of eco-friendliness, it also emphasizes on your natural beauty. Natural's definitely the way to go!

Fun Fact #2: Solar Tea

Fancy some eco-food? Here's a simple recipe for Solar Tea!

Step 1: Get a wide-mouthed jar.
Step 2: Make use of any herb you have at home. Place the tea bags and the herbs into the jar and fill it with cool filtered water.
Step 3: Place the jar in full sun and leave it for as many hours as you can wait.
Step 4: Strain the mixture and the solar tea can be served warm, or chilled as iced tea. If you like it slightly sweet, stir in some honey.

The next time you're feeling upset, take a walk at a nearby park. Just imagine strolling in a quiet park, surrounded by gorgeous greenery and ample amounts of fresh air. Don't you feel happier already?

With Singapore known for its many parks, you can definitely expect to be vigorized with every single step you take!

The Night Safari

Do you know that Singapore offers the world's first night safari? Well, now you do!

An offering of a continuous learning journey about animals, the Singapore Night Safari is a carry-over from the Singapore Zoological Gardens. Come join us and our nocturnal friends in the evening!

With great emphasis on being an open-concept zoo, the professional architects of the Night Safari have made use of rocks, branches, trees and other natural materials to build man-made habitats as close to the natural ones as possible.

Divided into eight geographical zones with three walking trails, this night zoo showcases a grand total of 1,040 animals of 120 different species.

Though there is a tram service readily available, it is strongly advised that you travel on foot. This is so that you may observe the animals in the most personal way possible.

However, if you choose to take a ride on the tram, you don't have to worry about not being able to see the creatures or learn about the creatures. There will be a guide following you throughout the entire tram ride, so fret not!

In your quest to discover more about these animals, we trust that you will not to take pictures with camera flash light as it may frighten them.

Don't miss the highlight of the evening - the 'Creatures of the Night' Show! Watch in awe as the animal stars demonstrate their predatory and survival instincts, and be amused as they pull a quick trick or two.

Natural beauty of neighbouring countries

Done with exploiting Singapore's eco offers? Travel next to our neighbouring countries - Malaysia and Thailand!

Besides convenience, the best part is that you get to experience entirely different atmospheres. You may anticipate discoveries of eco and nature elements of the natural beauty sites these countries have to offer.
Of all the eco attractions in both countries, we strongly recommend Penang Botanic Garden of Malaysia and Phu Pha Lom Forest Park of Thailand.

Penang Botanic Gardens

Penang Botanic Garden is affectionaly known as the 'Waterfall Garden' by locals, because of the beautiful waterfall located within it. You will be able to experience some native culture as local communities come forth to the garden to carry out a wide array of exercises such as jogging, jungle trekking, aerobic dance, and even to practice Tai Chi. The most recommended time to travel to Penang Botanic Garden would be when the garden hosts its annual International Floral Fest and World Music Festival in January and May respectively.

Phu Pha Lom Forest Park

Phu Pha Lom Forest Park is an 800-acre park of jungle and mountain ranges. It is most famous for the easy-spotting of wildlife like squirrels, jungle fowl and bats living in the park. The limestone mountain range is also home to a number of endangered species. In addition, trekkers can camp overnight in the park with advance permission.
